There are lots of things to do and see for children and their families visiting Pride Park. AnnaCarin Blomberg is artistic director of the theater group Teater Najkit (link in Swedish) and also managing this years Pride Kids.

The theater group has its roots in Tyresö, south of Stockholm, and has been around since 2012. By the spring of 2013, they had produced their very first and very own production Once upon a time … The Musical! (”Det var en gång… The Musical!”, in Swedish) and has since expanded performances for pre- and primary school children, among other things.

Teater Najkit is also responsible for this year’s official Stockholm Pride Kids song Proud. AnnaCarin Blomberg, artistic director, says this about the song:

I wanted to create a song that appeals to the younger festival visitors however without compromising the quality of the production. The song carries a very important message about the family as the most vital role to a child. It is love that is the essence of the family, and the ties between family members, regardless of family composition.

With this song, my theatre group and I, want to voice kids’ rights to have a family and to respect the family no matter what it looks like.

Teater Najkit will perform Proud live on The Main Stage (Stora scenen) in Pride Park on Wednesday the 27th of July.
