Wednesday record in Pride Park
7/31/2008

11000 visitors came to Pride Park on Wednesday. That is a record for the area, that last year had about 8000 people in the audience on the same night.
- The night was filled with joy, jubilation and love among these thousands of people that together celebrated that EuroPride is back in Stockholm. To look out on the huge audience during Arrival’s ABBA show really moved me, says Alf Kjeller, Pride Park manager.
Pride Park covers two soccer fields, with four stages, four restaurants, around eighty exhibitors and several hundreds of volunteers that makes the area work.
- Together we build up a miniature city that during a few days make a free space, a party place and a boiling political cauldron. Despite chafe and long days, it’s worth it when we see the results, Alf Kjeller ends.
Pride Park is open until Sunday August 3. Apart from the ABBA-tribute band Arrival, who was presented by Christer Fuglesang, Pride Park was visited by for example Joshua Klipp, God-Des and She, Linda Sundblad, QBoy, Nicki French and Rickard Söderberg. Dildokubb was played in the green grass, Rut & Knut was performing at Mini Pride and the Gallery in Pride Park had a vernissage.
Stockholm EuroPride is celebrated from July 25 – August 3. Pride House, at Stockholms stadsteater and Kulturhusets, was opened on Monday and is open until Friday August 1. The Pride Parade will go through Stockholm on August 2.
