EuroPride live in Second Life

7/30/2008

Thanks to a cooperation between Swedish Institute and Second House of Sweden, Stockholm EuroPride will be streamed live and can be experienced not only on location in Pride Park but also in the virtual reality.

 - We think it is a fun way to get the festival to reach an international audience. To broadcast virtually to a global audience will increase the possibility to access the festival, but also give the opportunity to lift Stockholm and Sweden as a successful country when it comes to the work with LGBT rights, says Anna Söderström, press manager of Stockholm Pride.

The streaming will be started during Wednesday afternoon when the opening gala starts on the Park stage. In Second Life, the Swedish embassy has been draped with the rainbow flag and a big screen has been placed on the façade. There will be a virtual picnic on the grass in front of the embassy, starting 4.30 Swedish time.

Stockholm EuroPride 2008 is celebrated from July 25 – August 3.
