The Pride audience listened intensely to the multi-tasker Regina Lund who took the stage on Friday. The reading to the audience from the book "Fyrväktaren" was a taste on Jeanette Winterson's novel which Regina has made into a talking book as well.
During 20 minutes, a sun-tanned Regina Lund chose certain parts of the book "Fyrväktaren" written by Jeanette Winterson. The novel is about a girl called Silver who meets a lighthouse watchman, Pew, and an older pirate-like type who tells stories to her. "The worlds best book", Regina claims. She feels like in was the novel that found her and not the other way around.
- My guitarist's wife is in the publishing business and she, literally speaking, put the book into my hand. I was skeptical in the beginning before I started to read it. The book made an enormous impression on me. It was as if I was reading directly from my own heart. When I was asked to make it into a talking book I couldn't refuse.
A coming self biography
Regina Lund reveals that she is writing a book herself, a self biography, which goes under the name "With what right do you take my life?" (Med vilken rätt tar ni mitt liv?).
- The somewhat bitter title can be changed, she says laughing.
Regina Lund is a multi-tasker in the word's true definition. In addition to the self biography, she is making her fifth record and participating in diverse movie projects. She was recently in the documentary "A penny for your thoughts" by Fredrik Rubin, which the Pride visitors can see in parts of the park. What is her inspiriation?
- My Dad. He was an extremely complicated and varied artist. He expressed all his feelings, both the highs and lows. In this setting I learned to use my whole feeling registry. Dad was also very encouraging, and he made me believe that anything could be possible.
Believe in freedom and love
Regina Lund has a tatoo on the left wrist, "Freedom", it says. What does the word mean to her? Regina concludes that it is the right to be whoever you want to be and love whoever you want to love.
- That is why Pride is very important, the festival fortifies our right to be human beings, just as we are naturally. I have always said that I feel like a homosexual man in a womans body. Thank heaven that we are getting a higher understanding and consciousness. In a few years' time we will look back at our current gender categorisation and laugh. Love is all that means something. It is the solution to everything.
I ask Regina Lund what question she herself wished that I had asked. She thinks over her answer and says.
- The one you just asked.
