Marc Almond

As darkness falls, he comes onto the stage: the main act of the evening, Marc Almond. He starts off with the song Glorious and after that he greets his audience:

– Hello Stockholm! How are you?

His talk is met by a roar from the audience.

Marc flirts with the masses and gives us song after song. Tears Run Rings makes some decidated fans at the very front bounce up and down. He goes on with Bedsitter and holds the microphone out towards the people:

Dancing
Laughing
Drinking
Loving

Those whi have followed Marc since his great days with the band Soft Cell had a magic evening. After having finished A Lover Spurned he faces the audience again and goes:

– You naughty, naughty people!

Then he lets it rip and delivers the hit that everyone knows: Tainted Love. Everyone sings alongand the mood is awesome. Marc finishes with a salute to all the constellations of love:

– Ladies and gentlemen, gentlemen and gentlemen, ladies and ladies, It’s your day today! Love to you all, and Happy Pride!

Backgound

In 1979 the group Soft Cell was formed. Marc Almond and Dave Ball made themselves reputable in a short time. The hit Tainted Love, a cover of the Gloria Jones song, became their greatest hit. Today Marc Almond tours as a solo artist with great success.
