On thursday Carin Holmberg and Ulla Le Vau invited the audience to a workshop on love and relationships in LGBT relationships. Carin Holmberg works at RFSL's on-call center for victims of crime, and Ulla Le Vau is a priest in the Swedish Church. Together they often discuss what a relationship really is.
Ulla Le Vau tells us that the Swedish Church synod will probably decide that priests will be allowed to marry homosexuals.
- We're slow to take action, as always, Ulla says.
They talk about some of their thoughts of marriage and relationships in an introduction of the workshop.
- Is the Disney image of prince and princess we grew up with enough? Wouldn't two princesses or two princes do just as well? Carin Holmberg asks the audience.
The idea is that he audience are supposed to discuss the subject in smaller groups, but some quietly sneak out as they realize there is going to be a discussion.
- It's sort of like Jeopardy, but without right answers, says Ulla Le Vau.
Up for discussion is a group of questions put together by Ulla and Carin.
31 persons stay in the auditorium at Kulturhuset to join the intensive discussions. The workshop does not find any answers to the questions. Like Ulla Le Vau already expressed: There are no right answers.
I manage to catch bits of the discussions.
- Sure you can believe in life long love relations, it's up your and depends on who you meet, someone says.
- You can have a lifelong love relationship without getting married.
After the group discussions the participants gather to discuss the issue in a larger group. There are many opinions but what is right or wrong is up to the individual.
