Pink Libraries
Text and photo: Marcus T
A few libraries in Stockholm transform into Pink Libraries this week. This means digging out all the old LGBTQ-literature, a lot of dusting and displaying. The librarians are promising us quite a lot of books ...
Pink Libraries is a temporary section for LGBTQ-literature. The idea originally comes from librarians from around ten town libraries who this year got together and formed a LGBTQ-group. The idea is for people to gain easy access to these books.
– You can't always tell the book from the cover, that is the first problem. There are quite a lot of people who are interested in these topics, but either they aren't able to find what they want, or they are too unsure of themselves and afraid of asking where to look. Salomon Hellman from Rinkeby speaks to SvD and he feels that this is the upstart of an important piece of work.
