Pride Park Opening Ceremony

And now Pride Park is open as well. Stockholm Pride's chairperson Claes Nyberg and vice chairperson Anna Fock, who officially declared the park opened also orchestrated the opening ceremony, which began with music.

Niklas Andersson, currently starring in the musical 'Cats' at Circus, was the first one out. After a couple of songs, Malena Laszlo entered the stage and jams with the audience. Before the music had entirely died off, George Svéd, began the price-giving ceremony of RFSLs two prices, the "Pink Thistle" and the "Rainbow Award".

The Pink Thistle was awarded to Göran Hägglund of the Christian Democrat Party, currently the Minister of Health and Social Affairs of Sweden. He was awarded the price because his opposition of a gender-neutral marriage law. Göran Hägglund sent his regards and explained through his press secretary that he is on vacation and thus he could not be present to receive the award in person. The Rainbow Award was awarded to the LGBT section at the Center for Dependency Disorders in Stockholm.
