During the opening ceremony of Pride Park on Wednesday, RFSL announced the winners of two awards, Rosa tisteln ("The Pink Thistle") and Regnbågspriset ("The Rainbow Award").
The Rainbow Award is awarded for extraordinary achievements to support the LGBT community went to the LGBT section at the Center of Dependency Disorders in Stockholm. The center offers LGBT people treatment for drug and alcohol addictions. Big congratulations!
The Pink Thistle is a prize for particularly counter-productive achievements for the LGBT community. This prize was awarded to the Swedish Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Göran Hägglund (KD). He was awarded the prize for his efforts to prevent a gender-neutral marriage law. Through his press secretary, Göran Hägglund lets us know that he is unfortunately on vacation with his family and thus unable to accept the prize in person.
