A Happy Vice Chairperson

Anna Fock, vice chairperson of the board of Stockholm Pride, was one of the speakers at the Stockholm Pride 2009 opening ceremony in recently opened Pride Garden in Kungsträdgården.
- So far, we have surpassed our expectations. I'm very happy with the way things have turned out so far and I hope it will continue in the same way, Anna says, smiling.
How does the heteronorm affect you?
- The heteronorm ... I think I consider what I say carefully, especially when speaking of myself. Everyone looks different and I often find myself judging people on the basis of looks. We all look different and that is one reason why we all have different personalities. It is dangerous to form an opinion of someone based on appearance, but that is how society generally seems to be working. I believe the most important thing is to always question yourself and your thoughts by thinking one step further about why you might have the, often prejudiced, opinions that you have, she says.
