Volunteerhosts on House

Red: Jazz M

Ida and Emma, valued hosts.

In the Stockholm Pride organisation all work is unpaid and idealistic. A volunteer on Stockholm Pride gets a dog tag and food during his/her worktime. Among the hundreds of volunteers that make Pride this year possible you have todays House-hosts Ida and Emma. What do they meet in the foyer of the Culture House?

In the Cultur house foyer you can, during Pride-Tuesday, find Ida and Emma. They are both volunteers on Pride House. The tasks vary from day to day and today they are both Househosts that answer to the questions of the visitors.
-We answer to all kind of questions. A person asked for example if this had something with gay Pride to do. Another person asked after a good sushi-place. But mostly it is about where things are in House, says Ida.

The questions can vary a lot. How do you know the answers on everything that people ask?

-The background we have is the volunteer education for Pride House, that everyone gets, but otherways you can answer on intuition on many quests, or you can follow people to find something or ask someone else if they know, they both explain.

Have you been volunteers before, and do you want to be that again?

-It´s my first year here. I became a volunteer because I wanted to be at Pride! I thought it seemed interesting but expensive, so it was a perfect solution to be a volunteer, says Ida.
Emma continues:
-I have not been a volunteer at Pride but a scoutleader. I want to be a volunteer again but not next year because I want to go into the army.
