On the Wednesday evening, the authors Inti Chavez Perez and Zanyar Adami presented their antology Pittstim, which will be published in October, at the Author Scene.
- When I read FIttstim I searched for a book that would be equivalent for men but did not find one, Inti says.
The book Pittstim discusses the male gender-role by having fifteen texts written by fifteen different men.
The text amongst others treat team spirit, violence, love and eating disorders. Inti's text is about the grey zones of sex, such as when sex changes from being mutual to when one part does not want it anymore. Zanyar's text is about homophobia.
- We searched for people that wanted to write the homophobic part but noone wanted, the guys explains.
- In the end I did it myself, Zanyar. I have been homophobic, he confesses in front of the Author Scene's audience.
Inti calls Zanyar's text for "the confessions of a homophob".
- It is quita a courageous text, Inti believes.
Why have you come to Pride to talk about the book?
- I have been very engaged in LGBT questions, Inti says, amongst others in RFSL's union executive committee. The homosexual issue is key when you discuss gender roles. Inti believes that homophobia is a part of the male gender-role. The sissy is the heterosexual man's negatie mirror image.
What questions are you hoping that the book will raise?
- We want to discuss the boys' opportunites to change the male gender-role, Inti says. But the most important thing is not to cause a debate but to reach the guys individually.
And in October Pittstim will be available for all guys to buy.
