Pride House at Stadsteatern
In the summer of 2008, Stockholm Pride and the Stockholm City Theatre starts a cooperation, as the EuroPride takes place in Stockholm for the second time.
Over five days in July, Stockholm City Theatre will open Teaterhuset for workshops and seminars directed by Pride House. Stockholm City Theatre will also play "Ångrarna" and "Petra von Kants bittra tårar" during the festival. There will as well be a premier of a new show on July 30 in connection to EuroPride.
-- Stockholm's City Theatre is a part of Stockholm's living room, therefore it feels great that Pride House will be situated there for EuroPride 2008. When presenting this year's Stockholm Pride festival, no people in Stockholm will miss it", says Sofia Sjöö, former chairperson of Stockholm Pride.
-- Stockholm City Theatre should be a concern for all Stockholm citizens and I see the cooperation with Pride House as an obvious indication of where we stand, says Benny Fredriksson, CEO of Stockholm City Theatre.
Between 28 July and 1 August, Pride House offers a unique place for debates, seminars, lectures, workshops, performing arts, visual culture, and - last but not least - mingle, networking, friendship and love.
-- This year, we look out to find new insights, alliances and common goals. We want to cross the borders, created both by geography, language barriers and political conflicts, says Reb Kerstinsdotter, operations manager for Pride House.
-- This cooperation will make Stockholm an example for the neighbouring countries, where equal rights for everybody is not a fact . It is therefore with pleasure and pride we welcome EuroPride to Stockholm and to Stockholm City Theatre next year, says Madeleine Sjöstedt (liberal), vice mayor of culture and sports in Stockholm.
