At the Gallery at PridePark you can find different art from many different artists. Generally, the artwork portray sex, sexuality and gender. The main basis is bodies and there are many close-ups and portraits.
- The theme is "Swedish sin, breaking borders" and the idea with the gallery is to break borders and, of course, to include sin, says Elinore Lindén Strand who is in charge of the exibition. We also try to exceed boundaries by gathering many different types of art in the same gallery. The artists have contributed with everything from acrylic paintings, photos and drawings to textiles.
The artist Angelika Markén is contributing to exibitions with a number of colorful pieces of work with alot of focus on the body and movement. Amongst others, she is inspired by author Anaïs Nin, who has written erotic romans, and she talks about the red energy in her paintings and that sexuality exists in everyone.
-Sexuality can be found at the magical place between the real and the fictional, the real and the primitive, she says and explains that she wants to give form to this interesting tension between the intellect and the primitive.
Kait Bessing participates i in the FHOBIT- exibition with portraits and a text about what it was like to come out as a disabled person at the 80's and says that it is fun that disabled people are more visible in the LGBT-world.
The walls are filled with norm-breaking art such as the queer postcards by Lukas Romson, which shows alternative cards of congratulations, Christmans cards etcetera. The vernissage is visited by many people and the atmosphere is nice.
