Carina Burman har written three books about Euthansia Bodenson, a 40 years old, international wellknown, successful, writer living in the 19th century. On thursday she was in Pride Park to talk about her novelcharacter.
Erotic complications
The writer describes Euthansia Bondesson like a adventurehungry woman that often dresses up in mensclothes with hat. She is unmarried, selfproviding and has a companionlady whose name is Agnes, that is more than just a friend - they have a relationship. Euthansia is an urban person that has many relationships, with or without erotic complications. She says that Euthansias (the name means "gentle death") queer image as menclothwearing and forward woman in the 19th century, is something pushed to be able to tell what she wants to tell.
- Euthansia must be straightforward, dearing and brave and what I belive is funny to figure, she is like a dreamperson. And of course I wan't to break norms with this character.
Carina Burman was at the Pridefestival some years ago and participated in a discussion about lesbian writers. She thinks that the Pridefestival is a funny and good event.
