Many of our volunteers come back and work year after year. Perhaps it is thanks to the warm atmosphere between volunteers and the community. Or is it the freezone that the Pride week provides, making it possible to come and just be yourself, that makes it worth the effort?

Become a volunteer - combine work with pleasure
Most volunteers work in teams and it is easy to get to know each other during the work sessions. Many of the volunteers are combining work with pleasure. By working a number of hours as a volunteer, you get the opportunity to gain access to the various events going on during the festival week. Not to forget the marvellous parade through Stockholm! What a feeling it is, having the opportunity to be there when nearly half a million people are taking part or watching.
Here are some quotes from last year's volunteers:
"This is so important, and I am glad that I can be a part of the Pride festival."
"This is the best I have done in many years. There has been so much fun being involved in Stockholm Pride."
"It is so fun meeting all of the people that I came to know last year, and all of the new ones that I will get to know this year."
Stockholm Pride 2010, bigger than ever
This year's festival will be even bigger than before. We expect both more visitors and more events during the festival. For the volunteers working during the week, we expect that the workload will be around 40 hours, divided into different working sessions. The length of the working sessions varies depending on what you work with, but most volunteers work six 7-hour working sessions. The volunteers that are not scheduled during the Pride Parade usually participate in the parade as parade volunteers.
This gives the volunteers free tickets to the festival, food during the working sessions, as well as a volunteer kit with working clothes etc. For the volunteers who travel far and is in need of housing, Stockholm Pride tries to arrange places at hostels or similar, at subsidised prices.
