Stockholm Pride elects a new chairman

This Sunday at the yearly meeting, the Stockholm Pride comity has elected the former board member Jonah Nylund to the function of chairman.
“This year we celebrate the Europride in Stockholm and many things have happened in Sweden since we last hosted it in 1998. It feels awesome to receive the trust to become chairman, I want to continue to develop the festival and the organisation “ says Jonah
Jonah, who on an everyday base works with youth exchange program, has a long experience within the Stockholm Pride organisation. He was responsible of the activities at Pride House in 2006 and member of the Stockholm Pride comity over the past few years. There he has worked with sponsors and partners as well as international problematic.
“The Pride celebration has a big meaning around the world. With this year’s theme “Swedish Sin, Breaking Borders” we have the possibility to set at the front page the progress we have accomplished in Sweden, but also to turn the attention out of the Swedish borderlines.” Concludes Jonah
Jonah is the first transgender person to be elected as the chairman of Stockholm Pride comity. Newly elected to the board is among other Claes Nyberg who is the former chairman of the united student-unions of Sweden and Carlos Diaz project leader for RFSL (Swedish organisation defending HBTQ interests). To the function of cashier has been elected Håkan Steenberg, who was both chairman and cashier within the commity.
Europride 2008 is celebrated in Stockholm from the 25th of July t the 3rd of August, during 10 days the Swedish capital with vibrate to the detonating blending of celebrating and debates. All over Stockholm Europride will collaborate with museums, galleries and cinemas.
