• 45000 participants in rainy parade

  45.000 participants and 450.000 in the audience at this year’s Pride Parade. Despite rain and chilly weather, the streets of Stockholm were filled with music, dancing and cheering when the parade went through the city on Saturday.

• Record parade and gala

  The Pride Parade leaves Humlegården at 1pm with 152 sections and despite the grey weather there was long queues by the ticket booths in Pride Park when today’s tickets were released at 12pm.

• Pink Thistle and Rainbow prize announced

  Today RFSL Stockholm announced the winners of their awards The Rainbow Prize and The Pink Thistle. Thomas Hammarberg, Council of Europe's commissioner for human rights, was awarded the Rainbow Prize 2008.

• Success in Pride House

  Over 10.000 people have visited Pride House each day since Monday, when it opened in the new premises at Kulturhuset and Stockholms stadsteater. The 280 items on the programme have been very popular and a satisfied and happy manager summarises the week.

• Dildokubb final, class discussion and mixed music

  On Pride House’s last day, the celebrated duo Annika Lantz and Tiina Rosenberg will return and during the afternoon the dildokubb final will take place.

• Thursday in Pride Park sold out – schlager euforia

  Another night breaking the records in Pride Park, with 15 000 visitors and an extremely happy Charlotte Perelli was called back out on stage by the audience after her performance and sang her song ”Hero” once again.

• 152 sections in Stockholm’s largest parade ever

  The order of this year’s Pride Parade is now set, and on Saturday 80 000 parade participants are expected to walk through Stockholm, from Humlegården to Pride Park in Södermalm.

• RFSL starts collection at EuroPride, in support to the LGBT movement in Uganda

  On Friday LGBT people were once again imprisoned in Uganda. Once again the imprisoned were subject to torture, to reveal names of other LGBT people. Tonight Stockholm EuroPride opens up for RFSL’s collection to support the LGBT movement in Uganda.

• Sold-out schlager, marriage and Lill-Babs

  When the gates opens in Pride Park today, there will be extra Thursday tickets released. The legendary schlager night will be greater than ever with 28 artists, of which 3 are Eurovision Song Contest winners who’s never been on the same stage before.

• Wednesday record in Pride Park

  11000 visitors came to Pride Park on Wednesday. That is a record for the area, that last year had about 8000 people in the audience on the same night.

• EuroPride live in Second Life

  Thanks to a cooperation between Swedish Institute and Second House of Sweden, Stockholm EuroPride will be streamed live and can be experienced not only on location in Pride Park but also in the virtual reality

• Opening speaker returns and theme day about HIV in Pride House

  Today Pride Park opens its gates and some of the opening speakers from previous years’ festivals will return to participate in tonight’s programme. On the four stages, artists such Moto Boy, Nicki French, La Puma, Joshua Klipp...

• Hate crimes, transgender politics and hiphop

  The second day in Pride House focuses on the situation of transgendered people, and the violence that LGBT people suffer from.

• Big audience on the opening night and advance-bookings sold out

  Pride sing-along at Skansen, the opening of Stockholm EuroPride, drew 11 000 visitors. During the night, the festival’s advance-booking tickets sold out and 500 extra tickets will be released in the information centre in Gallerian.

• Stockholm EuroPride’s first day offers sing-along and seriousness

  The opening day of Stockholm EuroPride 2008 offers lots of activities and the opening will be a sing-along at Skansen and when the sun sets the Hötorget skyscrapers will be lightened in the colors of the rainbow.

• Graffiti workshop and masquerade for young people during EuroPride

  Magnus Carlson is making a special version of "I was born this way", especially for EuroPride and is making the single digitally downloadable at the same time. All royalty goes to RFSL's school information activities.

  Cissi & Nour and Lill-Babs on the new stage at Kulturen

  Lill-Babs, counter tenor Nuri Harun Ates from Istanbul and comedian stars Cissi & Nour, are together with Maud Lindström some of the main attractions.

  "The Bells of Freedom-video premieres Friday

  BWO does the official EuroPride Anthem "The Bells of Freedom". Music video will be premiered this Friday and is based on a competition called Queer Idol.

  Minister for EU Affairs Cecilia Malmström opening speaker

  Stockholm EuroPride presents Cecilia Malmström, minister for EU Affairs, as the second of three opening speakers.

• 

  Indian gay prince opening speaker at Stockholm EuroPride

  Gay prince Manvendra Singh Gohil will be one of three opening speakers at Stockholm EuroPride 2008. Prince Manvendra came out to the public in 2006 and is one of India’s few open lgbt-people.

• Stockholm EuroPride supports Warsaw Pride

  Stockholm Pride will this year support the organizers of Warsaw Pride with a grant of 5000 Euro from our Solidarity fund.

• More scenes in Pride Park

  This year there will be more scenes in Pride Park, as the festival area is expanded with a Culture Scene and a Writers’ Scene as a supplement to the big Park Scene and the Dance Court.

• Stockholm Pride elects a new chairman

  This Sunday at the yearly meeting, the Stockholm Pride comity has elected the former board member Jonah Nylund to the function of chairman.

• EuroPride 2008 - Swedish Sin, Breaking Borders

  EuroPride 2008, presented by Stockholm Pride, will be a ten-day celebration featuring a unique combination of politics and partying. This year’s theme is “Swedish Sin, Breaking Borders”, focusing on international LGBT issues.
