This year there will be more scenes in Pride Park, as the festival area is expanded with a Culture Scene and a Writers’ Scene as a supplement to the big Park Scene and the Dance Court. With more scenes, every square meter of Tandolunden will be used, creating a unique variety of concerts and events for EuroPride.
Stockholm Pride is cooperating with Riksteatern, who is responsible for the range of happenings on the Culture Scene. The Writers’ Scene is a result of an increased cooperation with Normal Förlag.
- The Culture Scene will provide the visitors of EuroPride with a cool straggling variety. There will be both celebrities and rookies, vulgar as well as nuanced. Theatre, poetry, music and dance. The Culture scene will be a place for reflection but will also offer loud inflammatory speeches from megaphones, says Riksteatern’s Joakim Rindå, group manager for the Culture Scene in Pride Park.
There will be programme items on the Culture Scene during all open hours in Pride Park, from the opening of the gates until the closing of the park. Joakim Rindå from Riksteatern sets the programme in cooperation with Stockholm Pride. Actors, artists, poets and musicians from other theatres and groups will also be seen on the Culture Scene.
For several years, Normal Förlag has participated in the festival and is putting a lot of effort to this year with the Writer’s Scene, that will be filled with both Swedish and international writers every day.
- On the Writers’ Scene, the brightly shining stars and the hot debutants will meet in intimate conversations, book readings, debates and hug parties, says Erika Larsson, from Normal Förlag and group manager for the Writers’ Scene.
This year’s Pride Park will be open during five busy days. From Wednesday 30 July until Sunday 3 August the area will be filled with people, party, music and joy. Stockholm Pride is constantly developing and this year Pride Park is committed to making more of everything, in the same place as usual in Tantolunden at Södermalm. Pride House is moving to bigger premises, Stockholm City Theatre by Sergels torg, and is growing at an explosive pace. In the same time, exhibitions, parties, conferences and activities are planned all around Stockholm by external organizers. This year’s Pride Parade will be larger than ever – with many international parade participants. The 10 days of festival will be opened on 25 July, when Stockholm EuroPride 2008 enters Stockholm.
