Pride Parade, bigger than ever!
The Pride Parade of 2009 will start at 1:00 PM on Saturday August 1. It will depart from Engelbrektsgatan (Humlegården). Participants and spectators can look forward to over three hours of party, colors and joy!
The parade may be the most visible part of the week long Stockholm Pride festival. With its tenths of thousands of participants, its colors, messages and mischief, it's no wonder that it draws several hundred thousand spectators along its route towards Pride Park in Tantolunden.
The parade is much more than party and joy
For many, it may be a first step towards entering the community or showing their surroundings that you are a part of it. This aspect should not be forgotten, nor should the solidarity work and the show of support for those around the world who don't get the opportunity to have their own celebration. As long as this support is needed, Stockholm Pride and the Parade will be much more than a folk fest. However, the Parade management of Stockholm Pride 2009 wishes to spread a sense of pride and joy by working to create a feeling of folk fest combined with a serious aspect.
